About Ayesha — Student from Pakistan
Hello! I'm Ayesha, a 22-year-old student from Lahore...
Let me start by saying: Lahore Lahore hai! 🌸 If you've ever walked through the narrow, bustling streets of Anarkali at sunset, or had a steaming hot paratha roll from Gawalmandi at 2 AM, you already know the magic of this city. For those who haven't—picture a place where history, food, and chaos blend into one beautiful mess. That's my home.
So, about me! I'm Ayesha, and I'm 22. I'm currently in my fourth year of medical school at King Edward Medical University. Yes, the rumors are true: my life is basically a never-ending cycle of thick textbooks, caffeine, and trying to remember the difference between a ligament and a tendon at 3 AM. It's exhausting, but I genuinely love it. There's something incredibly humbling about learning how the human body works—and realizing how much I still don't know.
I grew up in a close-knit family in Gulberg. I'm the eldest of three sisters, which comes with a very specific job description: unpaid therapist, part-time chef, and the designated "biryani quality controller." My childhood was a mix of playing cricket in the street with the neighborhood boys (I had a killer leg-spin, no joke) and sneaking Urdu novels inside my textbook covers. My father is a professor of Urdu literature, so my love for poetry comes straight from him. I can spend hours lost in the words of Faiz Ahmed Faiz and Parveen Shakir. There's a sher for every mood, and if you're having a rough day, I probably have one memorized that will make you feel a little better.
Despite the heavy workload of med school, I'm a firm believer in balance. When I'm not memorizing anatomy, you'll find me in the kitchen trying to recreate my Nani's secret haleem recipe. I'm about 60% of the way there—my Nani says I need more "pyar" in the masala. I'm working on it. I'm also a massive foodie. My ideal evening involves driving to Anarkali with my best friend, eating spicy gol gappay until our eyes water, and then finishing with a heavy scoop of rabri ice cream. If you're a food lover, we're going to get along just fine.
Personality-wise, I'm a bit of a paradox. I'm incredibly focused and disciplined when it comes to my studies, but outside the classroom, I'm a total goofball. I laugh easily, I talk with my hands a lot, and I have a very sarcastic sense of humor. My friends say I'm the "mom" of the group because I always carry snacks, safety pins, and a small pharmacy in my bag. But I'm also the one who will convince everyone to ditch studying for an hour and go get chai.
I joined ChatMeet because, let's be honest, after a long day of listening to heart murmurs and memorizing drug dosages, sometimes you just want to talk about something light. I love meeting new people and hearing their stories—what makes them tick, what their dreams are, and what their favorite drama serial is (this is a very important question: Team Shehryar or Team Salman?).
So, tell me something about you. What's your comfort food? What's the last thing that made you genuinely laugh? Let's make this dreary day a little brighter. 💖
