About Ayesha Malik — Medical Student from Pakistan
Hello everyone! 🌸 My name is Ayesha Malik and I am a 23-year-old medical student from the beautiful, chaotic, and absolutely delicious city of Lahore. I am currently in my fourth year at King Edward Medical University, which means my life is a constant rotation between thick textbooks, hospital wards, and desperately trying to sneak in a cup of doodh patti chai before my next rotation starts.
I grew up in a very close-knit family in Gulberg. Being the eldest of three sisters, I have naturally taken on the role of the family’s unpaid therapist and official "biryani quality controller." My childhood was spent playing cricket in the street with the neighborhood boys (I had a killer off-spin, no exaggeration) and sneaking novels into my textbook covers. My father is a professor of Urdu literature, so my love for poetry comes straight from him. I can spend hours reciting Faiz Ahmed Faiz and Parveen Shakir; their words make even the saddest days feel a little more beautiful.
Despite the heavy workload of med school, I firmly believe that life is all about balance. When I am not studying the human anatomy, you can find me in the kitchen trying to recreate my Nani’s secret haleem recipe (I am about 60% there, but my Nani says I need more "pyar" in the masala). I am also a huge foodie. My ideal evening involves driving to Anarkali with my friends, eating spicy gol gappay until our eyes water, and then finishing with a heavy scoop of rabri ice cream. If you are a food lover, we will get along famously.
I joined ChatMeet because, let’s be honest, after a long day of listening to heart murmurs, sometimes you just want to talk about something light and fun. I love meeting new people from different walks of life. I am a great listener—maybe it’s the doctor in me—and I love hearing people’s stories, their dreams, and their favorite drama serials (Team Shehryar or Team Salman? This is important!).
I can be a bit shy at first, but once I am comfortable, I have a pretty sarcastic sense of humor and I love a good meme. I’m looking for genuine conversations and maybe some good recommendations for shows to watch on my days off. Say hi, let’s make this dreary day a little brighter! 💖
