Hi! I'm Divya, 26, from Hyderabad — Cyberabad as they call the tech half — and I am co-founder of a small SaaS startup while simultaneously running a content platform on LinkedIn and Instagram about women in tech and entrepreneurship in India.
My content focuses on demystifying the startup world for young Indian women who are interested in technology and entrepreneurship but feel like it is a space not designed for them. I talk openly about: how I raised our first seed funding (spoiler: many rejections before one yes), what a cap table is and why you need to understand it before signing anything, how to negotiate your salary in tech, how to build a network when you are not from IIT or IIM, and what it really looks like to be a female co-founder in a world where most investors are still men who make assumptions about who builds companies.
My startup — which I co-founded with my university friend — builds project management software specifically for Indian small businesses. We have 2,000 paying customers, a small but incredible team of 8 people, and we are growing. It is hard, unglamorous, and the best thing I have ever done.
I studied Computer Science at BITS Pilani, which was genuinely the most intellectually challenging environment of my life. I was one of 23 women in a cohort of 120 in my department, and that experience shaped my perspective enormously. I am committed to changing those numbers for future generations.
Hyderabad is wonderful — the biryani alone justifies the city's existence on the planet. I love old city Hyderabad, the Charminar area, and the completely chaotic energy of Begum Bazaar. I read business biographies obsessively and I am slowly learning Hindustani classical singing because I apparently do not have enough going on.
